    Easy decorations for Halloween cocktails

    Dripping Blood

    Halloween cocktail decoration blood

There's nothing scarier than a cocktail with blood dripping from it! Here's the best technique for getting beautiful, bright red droplets!

    Ingredients :

    • 220g of Sugar
    • 12cl Water
    • 12cl Corn Syrup
    • Red food coloring
Mix the sugar, syrup, and water. Cook without stirring until you see a hard crack – at about 150°C (we recommend using a thermometer, otherwise just eyeball it!). Add the food coloring.

Turn off the heat. While the mixture is still warm, dip the rim of the cocktail glass into it to create the red rim. If you need to make several glasses, keep the mixture warm so it lasts longer (instead of turning off the heat, reduce it slightly). You can put it anywhere—blood your glasses however you like! Turn the glass right side up to cool. The thick consistency of the mixture will create "blood droplets" as it hardens on the glass!

    Smoke/Ghost Effect

    Halloween cocktail decorations with smoke

You can give your cocktails a misty look without using dry ice! Take a piece of cotton candy and manipulate it until you get the cloud shape you want. Cotton candy is very easy to shape and it's edible (and sweet, perfect for Halloween!). But if you don't have any, you can also use cotton! In the same way, stretch it, pack it down, until you get the perfect shape.

    Spiderweb

    Halloween cocktail decoration: spider web

Use a small tube of black or white icing (depending on the color of your cocktail), like cake icing. Draw four circles, one inside the other (see photo). Then, slide a toothpick through the icing, making lines from the center outwards, and there you have your spiderweb! This technique works best on thick cocktails. Generally, only use it on cocktails that aren't translucent.

    Eyeballs

    Halloween cocktail decoration eyes

You can easily make fake eyes using just lychees and olives. Insert an olive into a lychee; if it sticks out, cut it in half and place it inside the lychee. To make sure the eye stays in place, pierce it with a cocktail stick! If you have a candy shop near you, don't hesitate to visit them; you'll undoubtedly find some fantastic sweets to decorate your cocktails on Halloween night!
